Tasks The Parliament represents the people of Belgium’s smallest constituent state. It has 25 MPs. The Parliament adopts decrees, elects and controls the government and votes on the budget.
Fields of competences The Belgian Constitution (Art. 130, Art. 139) determines the areas in which the German-speaking Community may take decisions.
The Parliament's building The building, which used to be a sanatorium, has become the Parliament’s building in 2013. The administration and the political groups have established themselves at the address Platz des Parlaments 1. The building offers enough space for efficient parliamentary work.
The political groups In order to achieve their political goals and interests, the members of Parliament get together and form political groups.
